About the Position

The City of Saint Paul is hiring an individual to perform expert-level professional engineering on Public Works projects within the Street Maintenance Division. This individual will act as an assistant to the Street Maintenance Division Manager and may serve as a technical consultant to the City Engineer on complex engineering projects. This posting will be open until the position is filled.

Here's what you can expect to do: Project future engineering needs of the City and conduct long-range planning. Oversee the preparation of design, plan, specification, and estimate of costs. Assist with operations management including scope development, cost estimating, scheduling, and controlling/monitoring the budget. Represent the department at meetings with the public and elected officials. Oversight of mystery voids management, including coordinating responses, facilitating communication across all departments and divisions, ensuring issue resolution, and maintaining documentation of decisions, actions, field data, timelines, and resolutions. Manage office personnel, hiring process, Asphalt Plant operations, and maintenance agreements across all PW divisions For more information and essential functions, see our job description.

Information Specific to this Position: This position will be located at 873 Dale St N, Saint Paul working the hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm, with some flexibility.

Position Requirements Must possess and maintain Licensure as a Professional Civil Engineer in the state of Minnesota

and

six years of professional civil engineering experience. At least two years of which must be as a level or equivalent.

Licensure in the State of Minnesota as a Professional Civil Engineer is required by date of appointment.
