The Opportunity

The Security Technology Services (STS) group is a division of Information Security that ensures secure access to systems and information for more than 400,000 individuals across over 150 countries. We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Enterprise Data Architect to focus on both business and technical data models within Information Security. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in generative AI, secure data architectures, governance, and cloud platforms. This role will modernize and design data systems that enable trustworthy and explainable AI applications while ensuring security and compliance.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and deliver impactful strategic plans improving data integration, data quality, and data delivery in support of business initiatives and roadmaps.
  • Define and implement the long‑term technology strategy and innovation road‑maps across analytics, data engineering, and data platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with the Strategy team to influence and incorporate organizational strategy.
  • Manage senior business stakeholders to secure strong engagement and ensure delivery aligns with long‑term strategic road‑maps.
  • Connect with key stakeholders, cybersecurity experts, and operational teams to create scalable security solutions.
  • Translate high‑level business requirements into data models and appropriate metadata, test data, and data quality standards.
  • Simplify the existing data architecture, delivering reusable services and cost‑saving opportunities in line with company policies and standards.
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks that ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across all data systems.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to ensure solutions align with the company’s long‑term goals and design guidelines.
  • Work with IT teams, business analysts, and data analytics teams to understand data consumers’ needs.
  • Lead the development of secure semantic retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) architectures that effectively manage structured and unstructured data.
  • Integrate large language models (LLMs) with effective metadata governance and ontology enrichment processes.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape, providing insights to senior leadership.
  • Provide data architecture thought leadership at an enterprise level.
  • Select and implement database management systems, defining data schemas, optimizing storage, and establishing access controls and security measures.
  • Design the structure and layout of data systems, including databases, warehouses, and data lakes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, privacy, and security standards, implementing best practices for governance, risk management, and cybersecurity.
  • Architect and implement data lake houses and master data management (MDM) solutions.
  • Produce governed analytics solutions using tools such as Databricks and Microsoft Synapse.
  • Modernize cloud migration processes and construct data products that foster governed self‑service analytics.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to technical teams.

Skills And Attributes For Success

  • Experience leading data architecture activities and initiating new ideas.
  • Skilled in guiding development and strategic direction of solution architecture.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Synapse, Azure Data Lake/Factory, Databricks, Archer, GRC or IRM solutions.
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Python, and C/C++.
  • Experience in data science tools such as SQL, R, SAS, or Excel.
  • Proficiency in modern data architectures: cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), real‑time data distribution (Kafka, Dataflow), and data warehouse tools (Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Experience with database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, Hadoop, or Teradata.
  • Understanding of entity‑relationship modeling, metadata systems, and data quality tools.
  • Experience with BI tools such as ETL, Power BI, and Tableau.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Profound knowledge of security technologies and frameworks.
  • Quick learner, adaptable to changing technology landscape.
  • Proven track record in fostering client‑service relationships.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 16+ years of experience in Information Technology.
  • 8+ years of senior data architecture experience, including enterprise architecture.
  • 6+ years of experience with data modeling, governance, and taxonomy.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have One or More

  • Security certifications such as CISSP or CISM.
  • TOGAF or AI architecture framework certifications.
  • SANS certifications including GSEC, ECSA, or ECSP.

What We Offer You

Our compensation and benefits package is designed to reward performance and recognize the value you bring. Base salary ranges (U.S.) are $152,700 to $294,000, with specific regional adjustments. In addition to competitive pay, we provide medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. EY offers a flexible hybrid work model, with expectations ranging from 40‑60% in‑person for client‑serving roles, and a generous vacation policy that aligns with personal circumstances.
