Public Works is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented
Business Systems Analyst
to oversee, support, and maintain the departments work management systems, including Lucity. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely data management and reporting. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and adaptable, capable of managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines, and able to learn quickly while working both independently and collaboratively across divisions and departments Oversees and supports the daily operations of the departments work management systems to ensure accurate, timely, and well-maintained data entry and review on Public Works tasks and services.
Utilizes data platforms such as Lucity, Power BI, Track-It, Civil 3D, and Paradigm to support project tracking, inventory, and asset management.
Serves as the liaison to the to IT Department, City Managers Office, and other departments on various data needs, special requests, and system integrations for Public Works.
Works with City IT and GIS staff as needed to ensure accurate population with respect to work orders, assets, inventory, and user permissions to support efficient system use.
Oversees and supports the setup, creation, and consistent entry of complex, event-specific work orders during snow events and other severe weather incidents.
Assists in the setup and management of templates within the work management system across all divisions to streamline work order creation and reduce data entry time.
Collaborates with departmental financial staff and City IT to ensure accurate data population for tracking eligibility under the VDOT Highway Maintenance, Urban Maintenance Program.
Assists department staff in processing work orders and resolve user problems with the work management systems.
Evaluates and documents current processes and workflows and recommend improvements or implement strategies to optimize accurate and reliable data collection.
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency by cleaning and organizing datasets, and performing regular audits of the datasets to determine where and why irregularities are occurring.
Generates accurate and complete reports utilizing Lucity for reporting and billing purposes.
Develops, documents, and creates procedures to support the efficient operation and consistent use of the work management software.
Build and maintain reports using data from Lucity and other integrated systems to support key performance indicators (KPIs), and strategic data projects.
Works within departmental divisions and support the use of Lucity where applicable and ensure consistent system use in day-to-day operations.
Works with vendors and internal teams to support data management and ensure complete and accurate source data.
Provides training to department staff responsible for entering data into Lucity and develops user training classes and manuals to ensure consistent and accurate system usage.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities. Other duties to provide direct or indirect services to the citizens may be assigned. When unusual situations occur and/or the city manager declares a state of emergency, all city employees may be required to accept special assignments and perform as needed to ensure appropriate service delivery. Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. May perform temporary project oversight. Incumbent requires periodic direction.
Associate's degree or equivalent experience in work related to field required. At least three years of related experience preferred. Must successfully complete IS100 and IS700 National Incident Management (NIMS) training within 90 days of employment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
