Description
Under the general supervision of senior Human Resources staff, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for executing daily HR functions including recruitment, payroll, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations, while fostering the organization’s culture and values.
Essential Duties
Essential Duties Process U.S. payroll in coordination with the payroll provider, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Lead recruitment efforts, including interviewing and hiring qualified candidates in collaboration with hiring managers to meet departmental needs. Administer and support HR programs such as compensation, benefits, leave, performance management, investigations, safety, and training. Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations; regularly review and update policies and practices. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive employee and company information. Travel between worksite locations as needed. Roles and Responsibilities
Monitor and document compliance with required training, certifications, and continuing education, including safety and anti-harassment training. Respond to employee, applicant, and supervisor inquiries, escalating complex or sensitive issues to senior HR leadership. Support background checks and employment verifications in coordination with fellow HR team members.. Facilitate new hire orientations, promoting a welcoming and engaging onboarding experience. Prepare and distribute HR communications, including benefits information, goal-setting tools, and performance review materials. Manage and report on training programs within the HRIS, ensuring completion and accountability. Participate in employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary meetings, and terminations; advise leaders on best practices. Assist leaders with performance management tools, including reviews and improvement plans, ensuring timely and constructive feedback. Lead succession planning initiatives, advising leaders on development strategies to align with company objectives. Identify process improvements to enhance employee experience and operational efficiency. Partner with leaders to strengthen employee relations, morale, retention, and alignment with company values. Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion through advocacy and example. Conduct audits and prepare compliance reports (e.g., I-9, EEO-1, payroll). Manage documentation and updates related to the Injury & Illness Prevention Plan. Contribute to HR strategic planning and department initiatives. Communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues professionally. Champion workplace health and safety by identifying and mitigating risks. Serve as a representative of employee concerns and organizational values. Provide human capital analysis and reporting to support strategic decisions. Stay current on HR trends, employment law, and best practices. Advise on organizational structure, workforce planning, and talent development. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. Qualifications
2-4+ years experience in Human Resources 2-4+ years experience preferred with using an HRIS program 2+ years of experience in a supervisory role 4-year college degree, or appropriate work experience equivalent Experience supporting international HR operations and payroll is highly desirable. Heightened capacity for empathy, and human service approach to problem solving Must have time management skills Must have problem solving & analytical skills Strong organization skills $78,000 - $85,000 a year
