POSITION MISSION The Sr. Revenue Accountant, POS (Point of Sale) leads and oversees all aspects of Bagel Brands’ POS revenue accounting function. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of revenue recognized across all store locations, including daily sales reconciliations, variance analysis, and the integration of POS data into the general ledger. Serving as a key partner to both Finance and Operations, the position provides critical insights into revenue trends, resolves discrepancies between systems, and drives process improvements to support growth and financial performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and manage the end-to-end POS revenue reconciliation process across all store locations.
Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly sales reconciliations, ensuring POS data aligns with bank deposits, third‑party delivery platforms, and the general ledger.
Prepare and review journal entries, revenue accruals, and account reconciliations to support timely and accurate month‑end close.
Monitor and resolve discrepancies and variances between POS systems, cash/credit activity, and financial records.
Partner with Operations, IT, and Finance to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of POS transaction data.
Support compliance with GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to support financial reporting and audit requirements.
Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and best practices for POS revenue accounting.
Provide reporting and analysis on sales trends, margin impacts, and revenue insights to Finance leadership.
Serve as a subject‑matter expert on POS revenue processes, supporting new system implementations and business initiatives.
Perform other duties as necessary.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Required:
Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
Experience with POS systems (e.g., Toast, NCR, Aloha) and ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite, MS Dynamics Business Central).
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis); experience with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
Strong reconciliation skills with the ability to manage high‑volume transactions (cash, credit card, delivery platforms).
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred:
Experience in a multi‑entity or franchise environment with high transaction volumes.
Familiarity with restaurant or food‑and‑beverage industry POS workflows (cash handling, delivery platform settlements).

Exposure to automation and reconciliation tools (e.g., Trintech, FloQast).
Experience implementing process improvements and system integrations.
EDUCATION – TRAINING – EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or CPA track preferred.
3–5 + years of progressive accounting experience, with revenue accounting or POS accounting in food & beverage, hospitality, or multi‑unit retail strongly preferred.
