The Sr. Revenue Accountant, Franchise & Licensing (F&L), will lead and oversee all aspects of Bagel Brands’ F&L revenue accounting function. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of revenue reported by Franchise and License locations and for the revenue recognized by the company (i.e. fees royalties, etc.). The Sr. Revenue Accountant will also be responsible for assisting with other revenue recognition functions, including the monthly Store Value Card and Loyalty point accruals and reconciliations. Serving as a key partner to both Finance and Operations, this position will provide critical insights into revenue trends, resolve discrepancies between systems, and drive process improvements to support Bagel Brands’ growth and financial performance. This role will oversee one to two Revenue Specialists and will report to the Sr. Manager of Revenue Accounting.

Responsibilities
Manage accounting and reporting for franchise fees, royalties, and licensing agreements.
Review and analyze franchise and licensing contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition.
Lead monthly Store Value Card and Loyalty point reconciliation process.
Supervise and mentor Revenue Specialist team member(s).
Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules related to revenue accounts.
Partner with Legal, Business Development, and Operations to ensure contracts are properly captured in financial systems.
Monitor and reconcile royalty reporting from franchisees and licensees, investigating discrepancies as needed.
Monitor collections process for franchise and license revenues.
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including revenue-related disclosures.
Provide insights and ad hoc analysis to Finance leadership on revenue trends and variances.
Support compliance with GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to support financial reporting and audit requirements.
Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and best practices for F&L revenue accounting
Provide reporting and analysis on sales trends, margin impacts, and revenue insights to Finance leadership.
Serve as a subject matter expert on F&L revenue processes, supporting new system implementations and business initiatives.
Perform other duties as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
Experience with ERP platforms (NetSuite preferred).
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis); experience with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) a plus.
Experience reviewing and interpreting contracts for accounting implications.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred
Experience in a multi‑entity or franchise environment with high transaction volumes.
Familiar with franchising & licensing restaurants or food and beverage industry F&L workflows (royalty systems, contract management tools).

Strong data analysis and reporting skills: SQL or database experience a plus.
Experience implementing process improvements and system integrations.
Education – Training – Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or CPA track preferred.
3‑5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with revenue accounting or F&L accounting in food & beverage, hospitality, or multi‑unit retail strongly preferred.
1‑2+ years of team supervision experience.
