What you’ll do As a Senior Field Applications Engineer – Motors, you will be a critical team member to develop high-performing electric motor designs using Iron Nitride Magnets. We have a once-in-a-generation new magnetic material. We are building a world-class motor team, and we are looking for its founding members.
Technical Expertise and Customer Application Development
Work closely with prospective customers to capture motor requirements, technical objectives and influence customer design decisions.
Collaborate with our motor designers and design partners to deliver functional performance.
Serve as a primary technical resource to customers as they progress through their development and qualification process.
Serve as a central hub for the internal organization on technical questions relating to customer programs.
Lead qualification documentation (e.g. PPAP) with support from the internal organization.
Modeling and Testing
Lead economic modeling supporting pricing activity.
Guide electromagnetic modeling to meet customer requirements and maximize value creation.
Collaborate to build and test motor prototypes.
Interpret data to validate and refine design and customer value models.
Cross-functional collaboration
Collaborate cross-functionally magnet and motor design teams to ensure alignment between motor-level and material-level performance.
Develop technical marketing collateral, whitepapers, application notes and technical presentations.
What we’re looking for
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetic Engineering or related field
Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on electric motor design experience with focus on electromagnetic analysis, systems integration, or mechanical integration.
Experience with application-based motor design software tools (e.g., ANSYS Maxwell, Motor‑CAD, JMAG, COMSOL)
Minimum of 2 years in a customer‑facing role (e.g., Applications Engineering, Product Marketing, Business Development)
Familiarity with thermal modeling and mechanical integration
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Effective written and verbal communication skills that adapt to the audience (e.g., internal vs. customers)
