Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust, secure, and scalable network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in routing, switching, firewalls, and network performance management, with a deep understanding of network protocols, architecture, and security best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Design, configure, and support LAN/WAN, wireless, and cloud network environments.
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and related network equipment.
Implement and manage network security measures, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
Configure and manage firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point) and VPNs for secure access.
Collaborate with systems, security, and cloud teams to support infrastructure initiatives.
Perform firmware upgrades, patches, and configuration backups.
Create and maintain detailed network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
Support disaster recovery and business continuity network planning and testing.
Participate in on-call rotation and provide Level 3 support for escalated incidents.
Required Skills And Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
3+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or Network Administrator.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
Hands‑on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or Aruba networking equipment.
Experience configuring and maintaining firewalls, load balancers, and VPN concentrators.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, Wireshark).
Understanding of network security principles, Zero Trust, and segmentation.
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to perform root cause analysis.
Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Skills
CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent certifications.
Experience with SD‑WAN, VoIP, and QoS implementations.
Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS VPCs, Azure Virtual Network, Google Cloud Platform networking).
Exposure to network automation tools (Ansible, Python scripting).
Experience with VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL, L2TP).
Knowledge of Network Access Control (NAC) and Identity‑based networking.
Understanding of SIEM and network log analysis for security operations.
Location: Boise, ID
Salary: $106,010.00 – $190,140.00
