The Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a
Project Engineer 5 – Electrification . The work will be done
onsite at our client’s facility in West Lafayette, IN (Convergence Center at Purdue University) . This is a long‑term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is
$64/hr + full benefits

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and production manufacturing efforts for supplier outsourced parts, model and drawing release, and process improvement initiatives. This position plays a critical role in connecting factory operations with core engineering, ensuring successful communication, documentation, and issue resolution. The engineer will manage multiple NPI projects and production models while supporting cross‑functional teams to drive quality, efficiency, and product readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with operations, assembly, supply chain, and engineering teams to support product builds.
Create and maintain assembly instructions using MESA and validate documentation accuracy during pilot and production builds.
Log and resolve build issues during Advanced Quality Engineering (AQE) events and track corrective actions.
Enter and monitor engineering alerts and manage change impacts on production.
Develop rework instructions, coordinate rework activities, and verify post‑rework quality.
Support sub‑assembly and end‑of‑line testing, including troubleshooting and test equipment verification.
Provide real‑time assembly line and test cell support, analyzing issues and driving process improvements.
Manage engineering‑procured materials for NPI and pre‑production builds to ensure timely delivery and availability.
Lead and track progress for multiple NPI and production programs simultaneously.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, project, or product engineering.
Proficiency with Creo, AutoCAD, and Teamcenter PLM.
Strong understanding of BOM management, GD&T, and 3D modeling.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Project Management, Data Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and APQP.
Modeling experience and prior exposure to electrification or powertrain systems.
Background working in manufacturing or NPI environments.
Familiarity with Caterpillar systems and engineering processes (preferred).
