Full Job Description At Ganas MFG, we blend craftsmanship, technology, and design to build extraordinary architectural environments. We’re seeking an experienced Millwork Design Engineer who thrives at the intersection of design and fabrication. This is a hands‑on engineering role with ownership over the full process — from design intent to shop drawings and CNC programming — working closely with an elite team of project managers, fabricators, and architects.
Core Responsibilities
Interpret and translate architectural and interior design drawings into manufacturable 3D and 2D deliverables.
Develop parametric 3D models, detailed shop drawings, and CNC toolpaths for precision fabrication.
Own the engineering workflow for multiple concurrent projects — modeling, documentation, hardware, and material specs.
Collaborate directly with architects, designers, and clients to optimize concepts for manufacturability while maintaining design integrity.
Apply extensive knowledge of materials and methods — including wood, metal, stone, glass, and lighting.
Partner with the PM team to ensure timely execution and clear communication across all project phases.
Implement innovative construction and digital fabrication methods to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in engineering or detailing architectural millwork, casework, or furniture.
Knowledge of AWI (Architectural Woodwork Institute) Standards.
Expertise in 3D modeling using Fusion 360, Inventor, or SolidWorks.
Experience in designing for fabrication using 3- and 5-axis CNC machines.
Education in architecture, industrial design, or engineering (or equivalent experience).
Ability to problem‑solve with incomplete information and manage shifting priorities.
Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
Curiosity and eagerness to learn about new materials, fabrication methods, and processes.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and comfort working in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
Work on architecturally significant retail and high‑end commercial projects.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team where engineering and craftsmanship intersect.
