Position Overview
At Timberlane, we partner with premier builders, architects, and design professionals to create exceptional custom shutters and millwork that sets the standard for quality and timeless design. We are seeking a Millwork Project Manager with a sharp eye for detail, strong technical expertise, and a passion for delivering projects that embody precision and craftsmanship. As a critical member of our sales and production planning team, you will coordinate every detail from the interpretation of architectural drawings to the seamless execution of fabrication and installation. You will serve as the outward‑facing technical expert and ensure every project reflects the exacting standards of our brand and customers. The role requires deep technical knowledge of wood products, joinery, and millwork construction, coupled with exceptional communication and coordination skills to bridge the gap between design intent and manufacturing reality. This is a full‑time, onsite role at our facility in Montgomeryville, PA with occasional travel required. Core Responsibilities
Review architectural and technical drawings, specifications, and blueprints to ensure design feasibility and compliance with Timberlane manufacturing capabilities. Provide detailed technical input to Sales and Engineering teams during the project development phase to ensure accurate quoting and material selection. Translate complex design concepts into buildable solutions that meet structural, aesthetic, and performance requirements. Oversee technical aspects of millwork projects from design through fabrication, installation guidance, and closeout. Collaborate closely with builders, architects, and internal teams, providing expert guidance to ensure clarity, precision, and exceptional outcomes. Develop accurate project schedules and material take‑offs, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met without compromising quality. Maintain organized records of submittals, RFQs, revisions, and change orders, ensuring all documentation is current and accessible. Deep understanding of the manufacture of custom wood products. Monitor project progress, proactively identify risks or delays, and recommend solutions that maintain timelines and quality standards. Conduct on‑site field coordination and measurements to validate project requirements and support flawless installations with subcontractors where necessary. Provide technical support when customer expectations are not met. Serve as a brand ambassador, maintaining professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail our clients expect. Some travel to job sites and fabrication facilities is required to support planning and quality assurance. Establish and maintain technical standards, best practices, and documentation for millwork construction and joinery. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to product design, manufacturing processes, and quality control. Provide mentoring and technical support to internal teams, including sales and production staff, on millwork best practices. Qualifications & Experience
15+ years’ experience in high‑end custom millwork, luxury home building, or architectural woodwork. Proven background as a Project Manager or Lead Finish Carpenter for a luxury residential builder or millwork company. Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural blueprints, shop drawings, and CAD models. Strong understanding of custom fabrication processes, material properties, and architectural finishes. Deep understanding of woodworking, joinery techniques, finishing methods, and wood species characteristics. Demonstrated commitment to quality and precision, with a collaborative mindset and strong problem‑solving skills. Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with a proven ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment; able to work cross‑functionally with diverse teams. Experience collaborating with residential architects, designers, and custom home builders. Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills with a detail‑oriented mindset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency in Salesforce a plus. Familiarity with CAD or millwork design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar). Knowledge of advanced fabrication methods and CNC machining principles. Exposure to Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environments. Compensation & Benefits
