Scope of Work In 2025, UNICEF is finalizing its Strategic Plan 2022‑2025 and preparing the Executive Director’s Annual Report (EDAR) 2025 for presentation to the Executive Board in June 2026. Under the supervision of the Chief of Strategic Planning and Corporate Analysis, the consultant will draft and edit the EDAR document and annexes, ensuring compliance with UNICEF style and high editorial standards.

First draft of the 2025 EDAR – 23 Feb 2026

Final draft of the 2025 EDAR – 6 Apr 2026

Edited and finalized annexes and supporting documents – 23 Apr 2026

Terms of Reference / Key Deliverables

Draft and edit core EDAR manuscript (First draft 23 Feb, Final draft 30 Apr)

Ensure all annexes and supporting documents are finalized and polished by 23 Apr

Maintain communication and resolve feedback promptly to meet deadlines

Qualifications

University degree in English, Communication, Public Relations, Media, Journalism, Liberal Arts, or related field

At least 5 years of professional writing and/or editing experience in English

Experience with strategic plan reporting in UNICEF or equivalent international organization (asset)

Excellent command of the English language with strong editing and communication skills

Fluency in speaking and writing English

Requirements

Completed profile in UNICEF’s e‑Recruitment system

Upload copy of academic credentials

Submit financial proposal detailing costs per deliverable, total lump‑sum, travel costs, daily subsistence allowance (if applicable), and other estimated costs (visa, health insurance, living costs)

State availability and residence status

Provide current health insurance coverage at time of contract award

Payments based on satisfactory delivery of agreed deliverables; UNICEF reserves right to withhold payment for unsatisfactory work or delays

U.S. Visa Information Except for U.S. Citizens, G4 Visa and Green Card holders, candidates residing in the United States under a different visa must change to G4 status. Household members, including spouse, require an Employment Authorization Card (EAD) to work.
