Job Summary:
At Capitol Imaging Services, we are seeking a PRN CT/X‑Ray Technologist who is RT certified. The technologist performs diagnostic imaging examinations using X‑ray equipment to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating injuries and illnesses. The technologist ensures quality images while prioritizing patient safety and comfort and adheres to regulatory standards and hospital policies.
Key Responsibilities
Operate X‑ray equipment to produce high‑quality diagnostic images.
Perform CT scans following physician orders and departmental protocols.
Prepare and position patients accurately for imaging procedures.
Ensure proper use of radiation protection measures for patients and staff.
Administer contrast agents under appropriate supervision and monitor patient response.
Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
Evaluate images for clarity and diagnostic quality before submitting them to radiologists.
Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Follow infection control and safety protocols.
Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and protect patient confidentiality.
Maintain compliance with state and federal regulatory standards.
Qualifications
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required.
State licensure (if applicable).
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Minimum 1 year of CT experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical training may be considered.
Knowledge of PACS and RIS systems is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Experience
Minimum 1 year experience in multi‑modality imaging; experience in mammography is a plus.
Required Education/Certification
High School Diploma/GED required.
Licensed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
