Application Support Specialist - MyAvatar
Location:
Remote (West Coast preferred)
Overview:
As an Application Support Specialist, you will serve as the go-to partner for core application support across the organization. Use electronic health record and case management systems to streamline data entry, build user-friendly forms, and deliver actionable dashboards and reports with Microsoft 365 and related tools. Strengthen compliance, documentation, and cross-team collaboration so programs have the reliable data and guidance they need.
Responsibilities: Support day-to-day use of electronic health record and case management applications, ensuring accurate data entry and reliable reporting.
Design and refine custom forms, fields, and workflows that simplify data capture and reduce user friction.
Build interactive dashboards and scheduled reports that visualize trends and program outcomes for leaders and staff.
Validate and reconcile data used in contract deliverables for Medicaid, commercial payers, and other partners.
Partner with program teams to translate needs into clear requirements and practical application changes.
Develop concise job aids, quick-start guides, and short videos aligned with adult learning best practices.
Coordinate application updates, testing, and change communication to minimize disruption for end users.
Collaborate on health information exchange and social drivers of health data efforts to improve continuity of care.
Monitor data quality and process adherence; propose improvements and implement agreed-upon fixes.
Safeguard confidential information and uphold privacy and security requirements across all work products.
Track tasks, priorities, and deadlines; keep stakeholders informed with timely, well-written updates.
Model professional communication and positive collaboration with peers, leaders, and external partners.
Participate in regular supervision and training; apply feedback to elevate service quality and outcomes.
Pitch in on related tasks that advance team goals when needs shift or arise unexpectedly.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in data, computer science, business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 tools for analysis, reporting, and collaboration.
Working knowledge of Power BI, Power Platform, or Power Automate; entry-level Microsoft certification preferred.
Familiarity with EHR and client case management systems; experience with MyAvatar or similar platforms is helpful.
Ability to translate program needs into clear requirements, forms, and reports that drive decisions.
Strong writing, presentation, and documentation skills with attention to grammar, clarity, and format.
Confident time management skills; prioritize independently and deliver on deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Understanding of data privacy and information security practices; follow HIPAA/FERPA and organizational policies.
Collaborative mindset with cultural humility and respect for diverse communities and roles.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
