About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our team and take ownership of the accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of 20 commercial properties in Austin, Texas. This is a full-time, in-office position offering excellent growth opportunities, a strong team culture, and competitive benefits.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for a portfolio of 20 commercial buildings.
Manage property-level accounting including AP oversight, cash reporting, liquidity tracking, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare budget-to-actual variance analysis and work closely with property management teams.
Oversee tenant billings, rent collections, and operating expense reconciliations.
Support annual budget preparation and reforecasting.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
Manage lender and investor reporting requirements.
Assist with external audits and year-end processes.
Partner with asset management and leadership to provide financial insights for decision-making.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
Minimum 3–5 years of commercial real estate accounting experience required.
Proficiency in MRI or Yardi property management/accounting software is required.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, property accounting, and real estate financial reporting.
Excellent Excel and financial analysis skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Detail-oriented with excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
Base Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 (commensurate with experience)
