Northwestern State University's Police Department is currently accepting applications for Police Officers.
These positions are non-exempt under the provisions of the FLSA and may work rotating 12-hour shifts. They are subject to overtime, working weekends, holidays, and shift work.
Special Entrance Rate Police Officer 1 - $18.58/hour Police Officer 2 - $19.88/hour As part of a Career Progression Group, the vacancy may be filled from this recruitment as a Police Officer 1 or Police Officer 2 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant. Please refer to the ‘Job Specifications’ tab on the LA Careers ‘Current Job Opportunities’ page of the Civil Service website for specific information on salary ranges, minimum qualifications, and job concepts for each level.
The actual starting salary depends on the education and experience of the selected applicant.
Applicants must have Civil Service test scores for the 2100-Protective Services Exam (PSE) to be considered for this vacancy unless exempted by Civil Service rules or policy.
