Job Overview Kforce has a client in Charlotte, NC seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to lead automation and management of Azure cloud environments using Terraform. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, with emphasis on Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, Event Hubs, and Redis.
Responsibilities
Architect, deploy, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.
Automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of Azure services such as AKS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB, Azure Event Hubs for Kafka, and Azure Cache for Redis.
Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to build resilient, scalable, and secure cloud environments.
Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules following best practices.
Troubleshoot and optimize cloud resources for performance, cost‑efficiency, and reliability.
Stay current with Azure service updates, Terraform releases, and industry trends to continuously improve infrastructure.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer or similar role with a strong focus on Azure cloud infrastructure.
Expertise in Terraform for IaC, including writing complex modules and managing state.
Hands‑on experience with AKS (Kubernetes), Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure Cosmos DB (MongoDB API), Azure Event Hubs (Kafka), and Azure Cache for Redis.
Solid understanding of Kubernetes architecture, deployments, and scaling.
Experience automating cloud service provisioning and lifecycle management.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating Terraform with build tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. Employee pay is based on factors such as education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), life, disability, and ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
