Responsibilities Kforce has a client in Charlotte, NC that is seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer. Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to join our team and lead the automation and management of our cloud environments using Terraform, with a strong focus on key Azure services. As a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.
Architect, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on Azure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform
Automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of Azure services focusing on: Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS); Azure Database for PostgreSQL; Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB; Azure Event Hubs for Kafka; Azure Cache for Redis
Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to build resilient, scalable, and secure cloud environments
Develop and maintain Terraform modules and reusable components following best practices
Troubleshoot and optimize cloud resources for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability
Stay current with Azure service updates, Terraform releases, and cloud industry trends to continuously improve our infrastructure
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team
Requirements
Proven experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer or similar role with a strong focus on Azure cloud infrastructure
Expertise in Terraform for IaC, including writing complex modules and managing state
Hands‑on experience with the following Azure services: AKS (Kubernetes); Azure Database for PostgreSQL; Azure Cosmos DB (MongoDB API); Azure Event Hubs (Kafka); Azure Cache for Redis
Solid understanding of Kubernetes architecture, deployments, and scaling
Experience automating cloud service provisioning and lifecycle management
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating Terraform with build tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
