Summer Intern – Analytics Practice (Washington, DC)
Weber Shandwick, a leading global communications agency, is seeking a talented and enthusiastic summer intern to work with our Analytics practice. The internship is a full‑time, paid program designed to complement academic studies through participation in a variety of assignments and professional responsibilities.
Conduct, compile, and present analyses to inform the strategic direction of integrated campaigns.
Carry out social media listening research to identify trends in online conversations and pinpoint key influencers; basic comfort with Boolean queries or a willingness to learn is required.
Use web and social media analytics platforms to measure campaign and content performance and provide data‑backed recommendations for optimization.
Understand client background and needs, including business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers and competitors.
Participate in strategic brainstorming sessions when invited by account leads or supervisors.
Sanitize raw data inputs and perform quantitative analysis in Microsoft Excel.
Availability: 40 hours a week throughout the duration of the internship (January – May).
Desired background: interest in data‑based storytelling or data journalism, basic understanding of intersection of traditional and digital media platforms, strong communication and organizational skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint), and familiarity with data visualization tools.
Knowledge of media industry developments and social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.) is a plus.
Basic understanding of statistics, digital analytics, data engineering and data visualization with a focus on integrating analytics into marketing and communications strategies.
Washington DC Salary range: $20.00 – $20.00 (based on market considerations and applicant qualifications).

Master Monitoring & Analytics: Lead management of our news and social media monitoring dashboard, write and edit sophisticated Boolean queries, and uncover critical insights and trends for our health clients.
Drive GEO/SEO Product Strategy: Be the engine for our GEO/SEO product and create actionable strategies based on LLM outputs.
Master Data Visualization: Transform complex data sets into clear, compelling insights using Domo.>
Develop Intelligent Agents: Design and create intelligent agents that automate and optimize workflows.
Be the Technical Integrator: Connect analytics teams, product development squads, and client‑facing teams to translate AI capabilities into strategic value.
8–12+ years experience in data analytics, data science, digital strategy, or related technical field with exposure to AI technologies.
Hands‑on experience creating sophisticated Boolean queries for news and social media monitoring.
Expertise in data visualizations with business intelligence tools (Domo, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker Studio).
Strong grasp of Gen AI platforms and ability to interpret LLM outputs.
Experience building AI agents or chatbots.
Experience working with pharma and healthcare brands and GEO/SEO products.
Proficiency in a programming language like Python or R.
Salary range: $115,000 – $140,000 USD (dependent on market, tenure, and qualifications).

The Junior Analyst will focus on delivering impactful analytics insights and research for our marketing and communications clients.
Gather, analyze, and synthesize diverse data points and perspectives to create client analyses.
Apply descriptive and inferential statistical methods to data from multiple sources.
Collaborate with project leads and cross‑functional teams to embed data‑driven insights.
Use automation tools and platforms (Google Analytics, Domo, Google Data Studio, Tableau) to accelerate data collection and analysis.
Generate insightful reports.
Bachelor’s degree in business or STEM preferred.
