iSphere is looking for a SQL Server Database Administrator / Developer who excels at solving performance puzzles, automating manual tasks, and building reliable database environments that
just work .
What You’ll Be Doing Database Administration
Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server 2017+ across dev, staging, and production.
Monitor performance, resolve bottlenecks, and fine‑tune indexing, partitioning, and storage.
Review and optimize backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
Strengthen database security, encryption, and access controls to meet compliance standards.
Plan and execute patches and service packs with minimal downtime.
Database Development
Design, develop, and maintain stored procedures, triggers, functions, and views for mission‑critical applications.
Collaborate with developers to improve query performance and schema design.
Build and maintain reporting databases and analytical data models.
Develop and support ETL pipelines to transform data between systems.
Participate in design reviews to ensure data integrity, scalability, and best practices.
Automation & DevOps Integration
Partner with DevOps to automate database deployments via AWS CodeBuild, Bitbucket Pipelines, or similar tools.
Develop scripts in PowerShell or Python for maintenance, schema management, and version control.
Integrate SQL Server management tasks into AWS CI/CD workflows to ensure consistent deployment and monitoring.
Server Maintenance & Collaboration
Manage SQL Server instances in AWS EC2 and RDS environments.
Conduct capacity planning and ensure performance consistency across systems.
Collaborate with developers, QA, and DevOps to streamline database operations.
Participate in sprint planning, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to release readiness.
Support audits and compliance through meticulous documentation and security configuration.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of professional experience as a SQL Server DBA / Developer.
Proven expertise in SQL Server 2019+, AWS (RDS/EC2), and database tuning.
Strong T‑SQL skills, including stored procedures, indexing, and query optimization.
Hands‑on experience with ETL development (SSIS) and data transformation processes.
Automation experience with PowerShell or Python.
Familiarity with AWS CodeBuild, CloudFormation, and CI/CD integration.
Understanding of high availability, replication, and DR strategies.
Experience with reporting and data analytics environments.
Comfortable collaborating in Agile teams using Jira, Confluence, and other modern tools.
