Consulting Lead

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Cloud Consulting lead, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the Federal Government. You will play a crucial role as an experienced technology professional who advises on cloud computing strategies, implementation, and optimization. You will assess business needs, design scalable cloud solutions, provide strategic guidance, and oversee cloud adoption.

Design, architect, deploy, and maintain cloud solutions

Analyze customer requirements and provide technical expertise on cloud cluster computing techniques and technologies of high complexity

Research, evaluate, and deploy advanced cloud computing systems and large data analytics

Assist customers with data integration and migration efforts, including mapping schemas and defining domain‑specific ontologies

Develop large data technologies, algorithms, and applications

Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned

Provide guidance and leadership to less‑experienced cloud development personnel

May serve as a team or task leader

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Cloud Consulting Lead Sr Principal must have:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, business administration, or a closely related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in information technology, including at least four (4) years in cloud strategy, cloud transformation leadership, or enterprise cloud adoption initiatives.

Required relevant experience includes:

Leading large‑scale cloud migration and transformation projects across hybrid and multi‑cloud FedRamp environments.

Advising on cloud strategy, governance, security, and financial optimization.

Deep technical understanding of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and serverless technologies.

Hands‑on expertise with all four of the following platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Engaging with senior stakeholders to align technical recommendations with organizational strategy.

Delivering executive‑level briefings and transformation roadmaps.

Desired, but not required:

Hands‑on expertise, including designing/implementing multi‑cloud environments, with all for of the following platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

Must have one or more of these certifications:

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Professional

ITIL v4 Foundation (or similar) for service management alignment

TOGAF or other enterprise architecture frameworks

The likely salary range for this position is $144,410 – $195,378. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
