Job Description Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) delivers mission‑critical applications for top enterprises worldwide, operating in more than 50 regions. Beyond public cloud, OCI is expanding into dedicated, hybrid, multi‑cloud, and edge deployments. Within OCI, the Technical Strategy & Oversight (TSO) organization builds the foundational systems and frameworks that power our most demanding tier‑one services. From high‑performance primitives to a next‑generation runtime, TSO is where OCI’s boldest infrastructure initiatives begin.
One of those bold initiatives is Autonomous OCI — a greenfield effort to redesign the kernel and runtime of the cloud itself. Today’s hyperscaler model grows linearly with people; every region or feature adds manual operations and cost. Meanwhile, demand for AI, GPUs, sovereign, and dedicated regions is accelerating faster than humans can scale. Autonomous OCI breaks this curve by making services fast, resilient, and self‑healing by default, enabling OCI to scale to thousands of regions efficiently. The payoff: faster time‑to‑market, higher margins, and a durable competitive edge.
We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM), with distributed systems and mission‑critical cloud‑scale services experience. This role requires a highly organized, driven individual skilled at managing multiple workstreams, driving execution, and delivering key milestones. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter and strong communicator, adept at leading large‑scale, cross‑functional programs, solving complex problems in an agile environment, and working with stakeholders at all levels. They will leverage experience in end‑to‑end project leadership, prioritization, accountability, and cross‑team collaboration to implement mechanisms that deliver our vision. Responsibilities include understanding business problems from the customer perspective, defining program strategies, assessing technical impacts, driving delivery, communicating status, recommending resource optimizations, and presenting updates to executives and stakeholders.
Career Level - IC5
Responsibilities
Drive complex projects while prioritizing deliverable execution, mitigating risks, managing escalations, and ensuring stakeholder requirements are satisfied. Drive execution for timely, on‑scope delivery of user and developer facing features.
Work with multi‑functional teams to establish and maintain roadmaps, setting appropriate expectations by managing competing priorities and influencing key partners.
Ensure product and service release quality is consistent with Oracle customer experience and operational excellence standards.
Ensure resource requirements needed to support a particular program are in place. Look around corners and effectively escalate and provide visibility where resource constraints and bottlenecks are anticipated.
Provide critical issue management, and make trade‑off recommendations, while balancing the business and customer needs, along with technical constraints.
Identify core process gaps, improve them, and establish organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity.
Provide ongoing written and verbal release status updates to senior leadership. Attention to detail is paramount.
Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in response to changing or ambiguous situations, advising changes through appropriate review and approval mechanisms. Provides mentorship to TPMs in program.
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of experience leading large cross‑functional technical programs
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management or related field or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
Experience in SDLC, using agile methodologies and associated tooling.
Demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically; then comfortable driving teams to deliver results, speaking up, and challenging the status quo when needed.
Preferred Qualifications
15+ years of experience leading large cross‑functional technical programs
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management or related field or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
