Act as a trusted member of the engagement team, providing federal tax compliance and consulting services. Lead client relationships on day‑to‑day tax matters with clients ranging from middle market to multinational. Consult on technical matters and special projects in corporate and flow‑through taxation, accounting methods, and ASC 740. Research tax matters, respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries, and provide recommendations to clients. Coordinate with specialty tax practices on complex matters in state and local, high net worth, international, research and development, and credits and incentives areas. Manage client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met. Network and build relationships internally and externally to acquire new clients, projects, and revenue. Invest in your professional development individually and through firm-wide learning programs. Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy. Enjoy social activities and team outings that encourage work‑life balance. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or law, or a similar degree; a master’s or advanced degree desirable. CPA or JD required. Eight (8)+ years of federal tax compliance and consulting experience in a professional services firm. Five (5)+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates. Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills. Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, see the big picture, display ethical knowledge and a sense of urgency.
