Vice President of Operations & Growth, Blavity Inc. The Vice President of Operations & Growth, Blavity Inc. will be a senior executive responsible for scaling operations, leading new initiatives, and strengthening the company's resilience. This leader will bring operational rigor, the ability to launch and scale cross‑functional projects, and the judgment to proactively identify and recommend opportunities for innovation once fully embedded in the organization.

In addition to driving operational excellence across the company, the VP will also lead founder‑prioritized initiatives such as expanding into health or growing our consumer revenue. The role will require working across departments, filling gaps where needed, and ensuring new initiatives are integrated effectively into existing teams and systems. Reports to the CEO with close collaboration with our Chief Business Officer / Chief Financial Officer and SVP of Live Events.

Responsibilities

Lead high‑priority initiatives such as expanding into health or growing our consumer revenue models

Once established, proactively evaluate operations and recommend new growth opportunities or efficiencies to the executive team

Develop and scale pilots and proof‑of‑concept projects, turning successful tests into repeatable, sustainable systems or products

Take ownership of business functions, teams or initiatives that require strategic transformation, stronger monetization, or improved systems

Build processes to reduce bottlenecks and improve efficiency across revenue and audience growth initiatives

Ensure alignment of initiatives with company‑wide OKRs and KPIs

Fill in the gaps between departments during the launch of new programs, clarifying roles and responsibilities across existing teams

Act as an integrator and connector, ensuring information flows seamlessly and execution is coordinated

Build knowledge‑sharing practices so insights and wins are institutionalized across the company

Design and contribute to performance frameworks for accountability (OKRs & KPIs)

Drive continuous improvement across workflows, reporting, and cross‑functional collaboration

Provide operational clarity and leadership at the senior executive level

Drive clarity and execution discipline across the high‑priority initiatives they lead, ensuring timelines, ownership, and deliverables are well defined

Build repeatable systems, documentation, and knowledge‑sharing practices that other teams can adopt to strengthen organizational performance

Measures of Success

Driving significant improvement in company‑wide operating efficiency and gross margin

The successful launch and scaling of new revenue streams, specifically a Direct‑to‑Consumer subscription model and expansion into the Health vertical, hitting defined revenue and growth targets

Enhancing organizational clarity and cross‑functional collaboration, evidenced by improved project success rates and team feedback

Instituting a robust performance management framework for cross‑functional projects that creates accountability and aligns all teams with strategic priorities

Qualifications Required Experience

10+ years of experience in operations, strategy, or growth leadership roles

People management experience required

Proven ability to directly lead teams and to drive cross‑functional initiatives

Strong analytical and operational background with experience scaling new initiatives

Strong executive presence and communication skills with ability to influence at scale

Thrives in dynamic, ambiguous environments; excels at structuring open‑ended challenges and driving them to completion

Preferred Experience

Prior experience in media / publishing, revenue operations, management consulting, private equity, venture capital, or a high‑growth startup (Series B+) strongly preferred

Track record of success in roles such as Chief of Staff, General Manager, Head of Operations, or VP / SVP of Strategy & Operations

Technologies

Technical fluency and comfort with digital platforms, subscription models, and AI‑driven tools

Details

This is a fully remote, U.S.-based role. Occasional travel for major events, leadership meetings, and business needs is required

Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Candidates must be able to work at least 25% in alignment with the Pacific Time Zone

The annual salary range for this role is $175,000 - 200,000

Discretionary Bonus: 10-15%
