Methode Electronics is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the general ledger accounting operations of its US Shared Service Center. The role involves preparing journal entries, reconciliations, footnote disclosures, and financial statement fluctuation analysis. You will work closely with the Shared Service Center team to maintain accurate financial records and ensure transactions are properly recorded. The Staff Accountant will handle various assignments related to the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting while complying with internal policies, U.S. GAAP, and Sarbanes‑Oxley SOX control requirements. Position Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, capitalize fixed assets, and intercompany transactions to ensure accurate and complete legal entity reporting. Verify accuracy of general ledger account entries and reconcile subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger. Execute month‑end close tasks to ensure a timely close process. Update close checklists and account reconciliations during the close cycle to track completion and sign‑offs. Provide data to support daily close reporting dashboards to management. Assist with weekly payroll journal entries and reconciling payroll‑related accrual accounts. Maintain and reconcile the corporate fixed asset system, tracking aged construction in process (CIP) and tooling for timely capitalization. Assist with monthly intercompany reconciliations for all global divisions. Collaborate with global finance teams to understand business transaction flows and relationships across legal entities. Assist with SEC reporting requirements (10‑Q, 10‑K, 8‑K, proxy, etc.) by providing schedules, analyses, and footnote support. Assist with external auditors and manage audit requests to ensure timely completion of quarterly reviews and the annual audit. Support strong internal controls over financial reporting and ensure compliance with SOX 404 requirements. Support the implementation of global accounting policies aligned with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulatory requirements, as needed. Maintain consistent standards and operational excellence in US and corporate accounting operations. Show teamwork and a collaborative approach to resolving matters. Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. At least one year of general accounting experience. Experience with multinational publicly traded companies is a plus. Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals. Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP, SOX/internal controls, and financial close processes. Team player able to collaborate across functions and regions. Organized and detail oriented. Analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills. Willingness to receive coaching and actively apply it for continuous improvement. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word. Compensation
Base pay: $56,100.00–$66,000.00. This position is eligible to participate in an incentive plan. Metrics and level of participation are determined annually. Work Environment
