Project Analyst Planner, Hotel Refurbishment

Project Analyst/Planner will support fleet-wide Marine projects and initiatives across Carnival Cruise Line (CCL). The role involves continuous planning and organization of required internal resources to support ongoing and planned production activities. Responsibilities include organizing, evaluating, interpreting project data and translating it into presentations, reports, charts to facilitate management decisions, and providing on‑site support during dry‑dock and in office to track, alleviate and streamline overall project workflow for the project management team. The Analyst/Planner will conduct feasibility studies to identify executable projects and overall priorities.
Essential Functions
Attend dry‑docks to provide onsite support with inspections, documentation, scheduling, communications, owner_supply items, and others to streamline overall workflow and enable project managers to focus on delivery.
Collect, analyze and distribute cost and schedule variance metrics; conduct studies of project lead time, competitive bids and pricing; compile information from Project Managers to send out RFQs, consolidate quotations, disqualify vendors, and organize data for PM recommendation.
Enter purchase requisitions and follow up on purchase orders, approval process and timely payments to vendors, including invoice processing, coding and reconciliation.
Develop accurate reporting and analytical tools for fleet‑wide studies to support lifecycle project justifications; translate data into easy‑to‑read information that assists management in decision‑making.
Conduct general planning, pre‑project analysis of requirements; prepare timelines for fleet‑wide project planning to ensure overall feasibility.
Work with vendors to review and communicate requirements and changes to business processes; gather all necessary documentation for dry‑docks such as fire certificates, risk assessment documents, and close‑out documents.
Create visual materials for presentations to business sponsors and internal clients regarding dry‑dock preparation, construction updates, and other shipboard/shoreside communications related to hotel refurbishment projects; monitor and track project status to identify roadblocks and propose process improvements.
Prepare submittals for Lloyds / USCG to obtain approval on projects; track and ensure all proper documentation is received and stored correctly; support Project Managers on ship modification process.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Architecture or relevant experience.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar capacity.
Project Management experience with large projects or events.
Previous experience managing ongoing vessel operations is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Superior knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Reader XI.
Analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Physical Demands Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout CCL facilities and may need to stand for long periods of time.
Travel 25–50% with shipboard travel likely.
Work Conditions Work primarily in a climate‑controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. May be requested to work a different shift.
This position is classified as “in‑office.” Employees work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week, and may work from home on Monday and Friday. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
