Job Summary The Accounts Receivable Cash Applications Supervisor oversees a team of AR Specialists responsible for the accurate and timely posting of customer payments and account updates. This role ensures operational efficiency, resolves escalated issues, and drives improvements in cash application processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, analytical skills, and a customer‑focused mindset to support the company’s financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily operations of the cash application team, ensuring timely and accurate resolution to all payment‑related transactions.
Provide guidance and expertise to improve AR procedures and cash posting processes.
Monitor and resolve issues related to invoicing, payments, unapplied cash, short payments, and chargebacks.
Escalate problematic accounts and customer complaints to appropriate departments for resolution.
Collaborate with internal teams (billing, collections, finance) to ensure smooth payment processing and account reconciliation.
Support audits and special projects by gathering and analyzing financial data.
Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Train and develop team members.
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Assist in bank reconciliations for cash and credit card transactions.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required.
3–4 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or cash applications.
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in receivables or financial operations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with JD Edwards or similar ERP systems preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and solve problems with a data‑driven approach.
Familiarity with banking portals and credit card processing/settlement transaction flows.
