Job Description The Direct Sales Agent Specialist is responsible for the profitable growth and attainment of business goals by driving new business sales and understanding customers’ needs to build rapport and trust. This position drives sales and builds and retains a book of business within the market/retail location. It is responsible for attracting and generating new customers and cross‑selling existing customers, supporting product offerings including Auto, Life, Auto Club, and Roadside Assistance.

The role sells to walk‑in customers, markets products outside of the office via marketing calls and in‑person visits, creating community relationships to promote continued growth and assists customers in the office.

Responsibilities

Drive new business sales and understand customers’ needs to build rapport and trust.

Manage and retain book of business within market/retail location.

Generate new customers and cross‑sell existing customers.

Sell to walk‑in customers and market products via calls and in‑person visits.

Build community relationships to promote growth.

Assist customers in the office.

Minimum Qualifications

0 – 2 years of experience.

P&C licensing (preferred) or must attain required licensure within 90 days of joining the company.

Preferred Skills and Competencies

Successfully close sales of insurance and ancillary products.

Meet and exceed sales goals through new product sales and cross‑sell/retention.

Leverage community contacts to build sales pipeline and maintain active physical presence.

Initiate outbound calling to established target customer base.

Monitor key competitors and suggest initiatives to improve market position.

Collaborate with Direct Sales Leadership to plan and manage marketing and sales processes.

Deliver optimal results within metrics including quality, quantity, timeliness, productivity, customer satisfaction and financial performance, complying with all rules, procedures, and standards.

Understand, promote, and remain current on company underwriting guidelines and policy changes.

Receive customer payments, issue receipt and verify reports of receipts for cash drawers.

Base hourly rate plus uncapped monthly incentive.

Compensation Base compensation details:

Unlicensed Candidates

Base compensation: $17.50 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Licensed Candidates (Auto or P&C)

Base compensation: $20.00 per hour, based on active required license and minimum 6 months of P&C sales experience.

In addition to the base hourly rate, total compensation may include incentive pay such as commissions and bonuses, based on individual and team performance.
