Director of Risk, Quality and Compliance
to join our child and family services team. In this role, you will help ensure the highest standards of safety, service quality and regulatory compliance across programs, supporting staff as they navigate complex care environments, strengthening internal systems and practices, and ultimately helping create a secure, equitable experience for the children and families we serve.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement the Child and Family Division’s Risk and Quality Management Plan
Oversee accreditation and licensing processes, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
Lead efforts to maintain and achieve organizational accreditation with the Council on Accreditation (COA) or other recognized accrediting bodies, including coordination of documentation, staff engagement, and continuous readiness activities
Lead contract compliance efforts, including monitoring, reporting, and corrective actions
Coordinate internal audits and external reviews, and ensure implementation of plans of correction
Provide consultation and training to division leaders on risk mitigation, quality improvement, and compliance
Oversee data collection and analysis related to service outcomes, utilization, and regulatory compliance
Facilitate feedback systems to identify and address systemic improvement opportunities
Support RFP/RFI/RFQ responses and lead post‑award compliance reviews
Collaborate with IT and other departments to optimize data systems for compliance tracking
Chair internal compliance and quality committees for the Child and Family Division
Ensure staff training requirements are met and documented across all child and family programs
Lead new employee orientation for the Child and Family Division and ensure staff are informed of compliance, quality, and accreditation standards
Qualifications
Master’s degree in social work, public administration, human services, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in administration or oversight of human services programs
Experience in nonprofit or human service sector (required)
Familiarity with child welfare regulations, licensing standards, and accreditation processes
Current state of Michigan driver’s license
Must reside in the state of Michigan (required)
Comfortable traveling throughout Michigan regularly
Positive attitude with a passion for serving children and families
Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
Schedule and Compensation
Employment type: Full‑time, 40 hours / week, salary‑based
Schedule: Monday – Friday, with flexibility based on the needs of the team
Pay Rate: $85,000 / year (bi‑weekly pay)
Hybrid – Remote: home‑based with flexibility to travel weekly
Travel: regular travel as needed to various Wellspring offices and campuses – mileage reimbursement provided
