Overview As the Vice President of Software Development for Lottery Solutions, you will provide strategic and technical leadership for the development and implementation of innovative software solutions for the lottery industry. This role involves collaborating with business, product, and other technology teams to deliver high‑quality, scalable, and secure lottery platforms and applications.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the software development roadmap and strategy for lottery solutions, aligning with overall business objectives and driving innovation.
Technical Vision and Architecture: Provide technical vision and leadership, ensuring that software designs and architectures align with industry best practices, enterprise standards, and lottery‑specific requirements.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing software development team, fostering ownership, continuous improvement, and a psychologically safe environment.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, translating business needs into technical requirements and delivering solutions that drive commercial impact.
Project and Delivery Management: Oversee and manage software development projects, ensuring efficient delivery of high‑quality software on time and within scope.
Operational Efficiency: Drive operational efficiency through best practice implementation, automation, and full SDLC management.
Technology Trends and Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to inform product development.
Compliance and Security: Ensure adherence to all relevant legal, regulatory, and security compliance requirements for lottery systems.
Budget and Vendor Management: Manage the software development budget and relationships with external vendors.
Quality Assurance and Testing: Champion robust QA and testing practices for reliability, stability, and performance.
Qualifications
Extensive experience in software development with a strong focus on leadership and managing complex projects.
Proven experience (typically 10+ years) in senior technology leadership roles.
Experience leading large global teams and working with cross‑functional and remote teams.
Ideally, 7+ years of experience developing solutions for high‑volume, regulated industries.
Technical Skills
Deep technical knowledge of software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, DevOps).
Expertise in programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, Angular, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and database systems (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, NoSQL).
Experience supporting mission‑critical applications optimized for cloud or virtualized environments.
Strong understanding of software architecture and system development technology.
Leadership Skills
Demonstrated experience building and leading high‑performing teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, conveying technical information to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Strong strategic planning, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
