Position Summary
The Donor Engagement Manager is responsible for planning and managing all aspects of QOPC philanthropy, including donor relationship management, annual campaigns, major giving, events, and planned giving. With the support of the Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO), the DEM will help create the annual philanthropy plan and fundraising targets. The DEM reports to the CPO and has a dotted line to the ministry CEO.
Overview and Responsibilities The DEM is a philanthropy relationship manager responsible for front‑line fundraising that generates income needed to operate and meet ministry objectives. Responsibilities include face‑to‑face donor visits, events, campaigns, and other fundraising efforts, interacting with the board, committees, leadership teams, and serving on the central ministry office philanthropy leadership team.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
At least five years of experience in direct fundraising, sales, prospect management, or a donor/client management position.
Success in building, cultivating, and maintaining donor or customer relationships.
Demonstrable experience in planning and executing fundraising campaigns.
Basic understanding of planned giving and legacy gifts.
Strong written and effective communication skills.
CRM technology experience.
Experience working across department lines effectively.
Driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
Skills and Competencies Required
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Ability to build relationships with a wide range of individuals and entities.
Confidence and desire to ask for financial support in person, by phone, and through written communication.
Adaptability to change and team player.
Creative, organized, and strategic thinker.
Alignment of personal values with Catholic Charities and Catholic Church teachings.
