Base Pay Range $85,000.00/yr - $105,000.00/yr

Overview Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a local client in Washington, DC in their search for an Accounting Manager to join their team. This full‑time, onsite position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to oversee key financial processes, ensure accuracy in reporting, and support the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.

Manage the month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial statements.

Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses to maintain accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and professional growth.

Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining accounting policies and internal controls to enhance financial integrity.

Coordinate with external auditors during financial and compliance audits by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries.

Collaborate with department heads and leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.

Review and analyze financial reports to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for operational improvement.

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations and reporting requirements.

Support process improvement efforts and identify opportunities to streamline accounting procedures and enhance efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or Master's degree preferred.

Strong understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software systems.

Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Strong communication and leadership abilities with a team‑oriented mindset.
