Personal Injury Paralegal – Postman Law
Join Postman Law to work with experienced attorneys dedicated to achieving justice for injured clients. Our practice focuses on personal injury litigation and client advocacy.
Purpose We are seeking a highly organized, customer‑focused personal injury paralegal to manage case development, client communication, and overall case management in litigated cases.
Key Responsibilities
Administer all phases of personal injury litigation, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, trial, appellate procedure, and communication with clients, opposing parties, courts, experts, and vendors.
Assist in drafting and filing pleadings, discovery requests/responses, briefs, appeals, and other legal documents.
Conduct factual and legal research using Westlaw and other sources for attorney use.
Verify citations and authorities to Bluebook standards, Shepardize authorities, and ensure accuracy of quoted material and cited exhibits.
Maintain organized case files, pleadings, expert materials, attorney notebooks, case calendars, trial exhibits, and other documents in hard copy and electronic case‑management systems.
Track deadlines for filings, hearings, and discovery responses.
Coordinate depositions, medical examinations, and court appearances.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular status updates and support.
Assist attorneys in negotiating settlements and advocating for the client’s best interests.
Collaborate with attorneys and team members to support seamless case management, including pre‑suit responsibilities when needed.
Skills
Prioritization and multitasking in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive client relationships.
High attention to detail and meticulous organization of case records.
Proficiency in legal case‑management software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and e‑filing systems.
Understanding of rules and procedures for various federal and state jurisdictions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
3+ years of experience as a personal injury paralegal preferred.
Experience in a high‑volume personal injury practice highly preferred.
Experience with courts’ CM/ECF systems, PACER, Bluebook, and Westlaw preferred.
ABA‑approved paralegal certificate preferred.
