Breast Surgeon
to join our thriving breast care program. This is a unique opportunity to assume leadership of an established and growing practice following the departure of our highly respected breast surgeon, who has been in practice for over 15 years. You’ll step into a well‑supported environment with experienced, breast‑trained staff and serve as part of the
second busiest breast program in the St. Louis region .
Practice Overview Clinical Volume & Setting
Approximately 6 surgical procedures per week
Over 120 breast tumor cases annually (2024 data)
90–95% of patients receive integrated medical oncology and/or radiation oncology through SSM Health
Practice Infrastructure
Dedicated outpatient clinic with 3 exam rooms
Private office space
Experienced, breast‑trained support staff
Established referral network and growing patient volume
Position Responsibilities Clinical Care
Provide comprehensive breast surgical services at St. Mary's campus
Deliver evidence‑based, patient‑centered breast cancer care
Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and coordination
Academic & Educational Engagement Formal academic faculty appointment is an option but not a requirement. Close collaboration across the academic platform is expected to support the educational and clinical mission of the institution.
Teaching & Mentorship
Work alongside surgical residents, medical students, and trainees in clinical and operative settings.
Foster a supportive educational environment for developing surgical professionals.
Contribute to hands‑on surgical education and clinical teaching.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration (Required)
Regular attendance and active participation in tumor board conferences
Collaborative decision‑making with medical oncology, radiation oncology, radiology, pathology, and other specialists
Team‑based approach to patient care and treatment planning
Academic Involvement (Encouraged)
Participation in quality initiatives and educational discussions
Contributions to case presentations, teaching conferences, or clinical research
Engagement in academic activities aligned with professional interests
Team Leadership
Maintain open communication across specialties
Support institutional goals for clinical excellence and education
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement

Board‑certified or board‑eligible in General Surgery with fellowship training in Breast Surgical Oncology
