Our Northeast Engineering Design Organization (EDO) is actively seeking a skilled
Mechanical Designer
to work on the design of HVAC and plumbing systems across commercial and industrial facilities throughout the region. In this dynamic role, you’ll be involved in every stage of the design process, from initial concept to final project layout, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑performance solutions that meet our clients’ evolving needs. You’ll play a key part in developing efficient, sustainable building mechanical systems that enhance comfort, safety, and energy performance.

Responsibilities
Analyze specific problems and issues to find the best solutions, technical or professional.
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant.
Identify instances of non‑compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures and relevant regulatory codes; report these instances and escalating issues as appropriate.
Define and deliver products and services that meet customer needs by selecting the best possible approaches within established systems.
Produce multiple concepts and prototypes to design digital products/services.
Operate complex machines and systems, adjusting processes to optimize quality and productivity; also responsible for generating solutions to complex inefficiencies.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Design/Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related technical field; relevant experience considered in lieu of a degree.
3–5 years of HVAC and/or plumbing systems design experience for both the private and public sectors; previous consulting experience highly desired.
Familiar with HVAC load calculation software.
Experience preparing building mechanical system drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Highly developed communication skills, both oral and written.
Proven ability to devise approaches to problem resolution.
Ability to be proactive and take ownership of the tasks involved.
Salary Range: $31.00 - $64.00 per hour based on experience and location.
