Overview The Director, Corporate Counsel – Real Estate is a mid‑level, business‑oriented transactional attorney within the Legal Department. This role primarily supports the Real Estate, Development, Construction, and Real Estate Management teams, focusing on the company’s expanding real estate portfolio. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience preparing, negotiating, and analyzing a wide range of real estate and construction agreements. Additional experience in construction, retail, tax, finance, or M&A is a plus. This is a full‑time hybrid role (remote on Monday and Friday, in office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) located in Coraopolis, PA.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, negotiate, and oversee all documentation for retail real estate transactions, including construction contracts, architectural & engineering agreements, leases, purchase and sale agreements, reciprocal easement agreements, site development agreements, financing instruments, SNDAs, letters of intent, and related documents.
Track, draft, and negotiate agreements for lease renewals, store remodels, and property transfers.
Monitor compliance with real estate contracts, address non‑compliance, and draft amendments, waivers, consents, estoppels, and SNDAs as needed.
Advise management and provide legal support to Real Estate, Development, Construction, Facilities, and Real Estate Management departments.
Oversee and manage outside counsel for real estate transactions and litigation, including mechanics’ liens and construction cost disputes.
Review and manage outside counsel fees to ensure alignment with budgets.
Education & Experience
Juris Doctorate (JD) required.
Minimum 5–7 years of law firm and/or in‑house experience, with at least 5 years focused on real‑estate law.
Must be admitted to the Bar in Pennsylvania and maintain membership in good standing.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
