Automotive Controller - Greenwich, CT market
A well-established, family-owned dealership in the Greenwich, CT area is seeking its next long-term Automotive Controller as the current Controller prepares to retire after a highly successful career with the store. This is a hands‑on leadership role that reports directly to the Dealer Principal and works closely with the General Manager on a daily basis. The ideal candidate is an experienced Automotive Controller who is honest, trustworthy, and has the dealership’s best interests at heart.
The Controller hired will oversee a small accounting team (2–3 people) and will be responsible for all day‑to‑day accounting functions and the month‑end close. Must be well‑versed in all areas of automotive accounting. Experience on Reynolds and Reynolds is a plus, but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting operations and month‑end close process
Ensure accuracy of all financial statements, schedules, and reports
Work closely with the Dealer Principal and GM and department managers to support store performance and financial goals
Monitor cash flow, bank reconciliations, and floorplan accounts
Maintain internal controls and safeguard dealership assets
Train, develop, and manage accounting personnel
Monitor daily operating control reports and identify variances
Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts
Oversee and maintain internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure data accuracy
Coordinate with department managers to ensure accurate reporting and compliance
Monitor cash flow, contracts, and factory schedules
Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses
Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and manufacturers
Ensure compliance with OEM, state, and federal regulations
Provide leadership, guidance, and training to accounting team members
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Proven experience as an Automotive Controller in a dealership environment
Strong knowledge of dealership accounting systems and best practices
Ability to lead under pressure while maintaining accuracy and timeliness
High integrity and discretion with sensitive information
Compensation
Compensation in the $120,000 - $125,000 range depending on experience and track record
