Key Responsibilities

Provide financial deliverables (Weekly Business Review, Monthly Financial Reviews, Operating Plans, pricing/discounts, etc.) for EC2 Core businesses.

Drive business to find efficiencies to grow profit and manage multiple time‑sensitive deliverables across a matrixed organization.

Partner with senior management and internal stakeholders to provide financial recommendations, build financial models for new business concepts, and deliver data‑intensive analyses.

Develop and standardize financial reporting packages and present insights to business and finance leadership.

Drive continuous improvements in profitability, free cash flow, and operational efficiency.

A Day in the Life Serve as the key business partner working directly with AWS senior management and other internal stakeholders to provide financial recommendations. Build financial models for new business concepts, make analytical judgments, and deliver data‑intensive analyses to drive meaningful change. Present financial summary and business insights to the business and finance leadership. Develop and standardize financial reporting packages. Drive continuous improvements in profitability, free cash flow, and operational efficiency.

About the Team This role will work closely with finance management as well as key business partners across the AWS organization, including Product Managers, Engineers and GMs, to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership. It requires a self‑starter and independent individual with strong financial modeling abilities, problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with ambiguous situations.

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science).

Preferred Qualifications

MBA or CMA.

6+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes.

Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis, or working with stakeholders.

Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and interpreting data results.

Experience solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations with proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits).

Experience with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).

Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
