Job Description
Overhauls and repairs gantries, portal cranes, and other heavy‑duty mobile equipment such as bulldozers, mobile cranes, locomotives, tractors, graders, power shovels, diesel‑powered trucks, buses, and material‑handling equipment. Repairs diesel or gasoline engines as necessary; inspects and performs preventive maintenance; replaces any necessary components such as clutches, transmission systems, differentials, air compressors, pumps, filter units, superchargers, generators, governors, reduction gears, hydraulic couplings, steering systems, cooling systems, electrical systems, gear boxes, and similar units.
Basic Qualifications
Applicant should have 3 or more years of experience diagnosing and repairing all types of heavy equipment—diesel and gas‑powered.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with heavy equipment maintenance and repair in a shipbuilding or defense manufacturing environment.
