Job Description The Student Pastor at Bethel Baptist Church is expected to be passionate and biblically grounded with the responsibility to disciple and lead students (grades 6-12) in their walk with Christ. They are responsible for developing and overseeing the youth ministry, fostering spiritual growth, and equipping students to love God, love people, and make disciples of Jesus Christ.
Primary Responsibilities
Spiritual Leadership & Discipleship: Teach and disciple students through Bible studies, small groups, and mentoring relationships, ensuring a gospel-centered approach.
Student Gatherings & Activities: Plan and lead weekly youth meetings (outside of AWANA), incorporating biblical teaching, worship, fellowship, and prayer.
AWANA: Support volunteers of the AWANA Youth ministry.
Events & Outreach: Organize and lead special events, retreats, service projects, and outreach opportunities to engage students and encourage evangelism.
Volunteer Development: Recruit, train, and equip volunteers to serve within the student ministry.
Parent & Church Involvement: Partner with parents to support students’ spiritual growth and integrate the student ministry into the broader life of the church.
Administrative Duties: Manage communication with students, parents, and volunteers; oversee budgeting for student activities; maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
Qualifications
A growing and mature follower of Jesus Christ with a strong commitment to biblical truth.
Agreement with Bethel Baptist Church’s mission, core values, and doctrinal beliefs.
Passion for youth ministry and experience in discipling students.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work well with pastoral staff, volunteers, parents, and students.
