About the Role

In this role one will be responsible for conducting investigations of alleged abuse, violations of rights and/or mistreatment of children and adults with intellectual disabilities; may also be required to assist in the investigation of matters related to compliance. Responsibilities

Promote and adhere to all elements of the Agency's CQL outcomes and Core Values and demonstrate knowledge and commitment to the Arc's Mission. Ensure protection from abuse, neglect, mistreatment and exploitation in regard to the health, safety, comfort, and well-being for the people we support by adhering to all related policies. Document and investigate matters related to reportable significant incidents, serious notable occurrences, and minor notable occurrences. Ensure confidentiality throughout the investigation process while providing anonymity of complaints and protecting those who report from fear of retaliation. Maintain communication with the OPWDD Incident Management Unit (IMU) in regards to open investigations as needed. Serve as a liaison to the NYS Justice Center and OPWDD investigators during investigations. Provide Incident Reporting, NYS Justice Center, and Investigation training to employees as part of agency orientation, annual refreshers or as needed and requested. Serve in an on-call rotation with other members of the Corporate Compliance/Quality Assurance office to provide incident guidance and investigative coverage during non-business hours. Participates in weekend, evening, and overnight unannounced site visits of residential facilities as assigned. Qualifications

Associate's Degree with two years of experience in the field of human services, criminal justice, social work or related field (Or) NYS Licensed Registered Nurse Knowledge and experience in §624 regulations, NYS Justice Center Regulations, and Jonathan's Law. Knowledge and experience in the intellectual and developmental disabilities population Valid NYS Driver's License Pay & Perks
