CGS is seeking a dedicated Paralegal to join a fast-paced and hard-working team to assist with legal accounts. As a Paralegal, you will play a key role in supporting various aspects of the company's portfolio. This role requires active Top Secret clearance.
Overview This position supports the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) and related teams. Work products are reviewed prior to submission; personnel may develop these products with minimal direct supervision according to written guidelines. The contractor must adjust to changing priorities and work well under pressure.
Base pay range $83,545.00/yr - $107,415.00/yr

Responsibilities
Provide professional, accurate, timely, and reliable paralegal support reporting to the OGC, with duties detailed to assist LITB or IALB. Work products are reviewed prior to submission; personnel may develop these products with minimal direct supervision other than written guidelines.
Receive, prioritize, and process requests such as document review or requests for advice or legal technical assistance.
Research and locate responsive information documents; identify relevant laws, judicial decisions, and legal articles.
Perform typical paralegal functions, including: moderately complex legal research; synopsizing transcripts of hearings and oral arguments; reviewing case-related materials; and identifying potentially conflicting statements or areas requiring further investigation.
Write preliminary drafts of legal memoranda and correspondence.
Assist in preparing draft legal documents (motions, briefs, memoranda of law, exhibits) and perform legal analysis, document review for relevance and privilege; assist attorneys with all phases of litigation.
Review discovery materials for relevancy and privilege; prepare privilege logs.
Maintain documentation of records produced in discovery, correspondence, and case management functions.
Assist in drafting and issuing preservation notices and litigation holds.
Design, generate, and transmit reports on case assignments and productivity using case management databases.
Analyze and interpret requests from customers; conduct outreach for discovery responses and interrogatories.
Prepare declarations; assist in discovery and case preparation tasks such as issuing releases to customers and managing related materials.
Review and redact privileged information; conduct privilege reviews using applicable platforms (e.g., Veritas eDiscovery, Adobe Pro).
Review peers’ work for accuracy and provide constructive edits; support collaboration among discovery team members.
Provide professional client service in all interactions and manage project schedules to meet objectives.
Coordinate classifications reviews and overlays of material returned from classification review; maintain collaboration with the discovery team.
Serve as a consultant on privilege application and document production; communicate with FBI and other agency employees at all levels with professionalism.
Provide weekly status updates to management and periodic updates to Assistant General Counsels and other DU customers.
Conduct searches of FBI systems and databases to retrieve relevant documents or files; support the Legal Hold program and information governance initiatives.
Qualifications
Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school with at least one year of study completed.
At least two years of litigation paralegal experience; trial experience is very helpful.
At least one year of experience in automated litigation support; working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and resources.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
Hands-on familiarity with word processing, databases (document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems; experience with ESI tools and eDiscovery processes.
Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure.
