UW Medicine Operator Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Hospital Communications Representative/Telecom Dispatcher/PBX. Job Description UW Medicine Telecom Team provides 24/7 coverage answering the UWMC and Harborview Medical Center switchboards. Our team values excellent customer service, timely response, accurate dispatch and paging, and courteous processing of calls. We receive and route calls for patients, families, and staff. Work Schedule

40 hours per week Tuesday–Saturday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM Evening Shift Position Highlights

Provide a friendly voice to connect callers to their destination as part of patient- and family-centered care at UWMC and HMC Deliver prompt, courteous service using strong communication with internal and external customers Be part of a team supporting UW Medicine where Patients Are First Primary Job Responsibilities

Answer all incoming calls to the medical centers’ main telephone numbers Transfer external and internal calls Provide visitor information and general customer service reception Receive and dispatch all emergency communications, including trauma codes and code blue Paging services for patients, staff, and medical providers Monitor and respond to alarms Requirements

High School Diploma or GED; AND one year of experience as a Telephone Communications Operator or equivalent. Six months of additional qualifying experience may substitute for required education. Excellent customer service skills Ability to work in a team setting Computer skills, including competent keyboard abilities Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as a license, certification, and/or registration About UW Medicine
