Reliability, timeliness and attention to detail. Increase knowledge of Arabic through course content (e.g., Arabic 1010, 1020, 2010, 2020) and related teaching methods, course textbook, materials, and assignments. Increase competence in tutoring by integrating textbook materials, assessing student competence, and tailoring instruction to the student’s level, needs, and instructor expectations. Communicate effectively with a broad range of people with varying abilities and backgrounds; maintain positive working relationships across the College. Work with diverse groups, including community college students, faculty, staff, and individuals with disabilities. Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred Qualifications
Current student of SLCC. Language teaching or tutoring experience. Availability to attend SLCC classes in the target language in conjunction with the course instructor’s approval. Attending classes will increase familiarity with course materials and teaching methods. The instructor will expect you to work with students during class time, which is good preparation for tutoring.
