New employees must provide a valid Utah residential address within 30 days of their start date. Job Summary Tutoring Italian language Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Reliability, timeliness and attention to detail. Increasing knowledge of Italian 1010 and 1020, 2010, 2020 and other Italian language related including teaching methods and the course textbook, materials, and assignments. Increasing competence in tutoring, focusing on textbook integration, identifying student level of competence, and tailoring instruction to the student level, needs, and instructor expectations. Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities. Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred Qualifications
Current student of SLCC. Language teaching or tutoring experience. Availability to attend the SLCC classes in the target language in conjunction with the approval of the course instructor. Attending classes will increase your familiarity with course materials and teaching methods. The instructor will expect you to work with students during class time, which is also good preparation for tutoring. SLCC Information
