This position involves coordinating patient appointments, managing schedules, and ensuring a seamless experience for all individuals interacting with the healthcare facility.
Responsibilities
Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous and professional manner. Schedule patient appointments accurately and efficiently using the electronic scheduling system. Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate department or individual. Verify patient demographics and insurance information to ensure accurate billing and documentation. Collaborate with medical staff to prioritize patient appointments based on urgency and availability. Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist in managing patient flow and addressing any issues or concerns that arise during the visit. Coordinate with other departments to ensure a coordinated and smooth patient experience.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred. Prior experience in a customer service or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting. Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and scheduling software. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage appointments and patient information accurately. Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification is a plus. Commitment to upholding patient confidentiality and privacy standards.
