Centralia School District
The Dean of Students assists with the daily operation of the school, specifically in attendance, behavior (including discipline), intervention services, including Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS), and a variety of student body activities.
Some incumbents may not perform all the duties listed while in other cases related duties may also be assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Administers disciplinary procedures in accordance with district policies.
Receives referrals and confers with students, parents, teachers, community agencies, and law enforcement; responds to and resolves parent, student, and staff concerns and complaints.
Serves on discipline, truancy, or expulsion panels as assigned.
Supervises students on campus and monitors students during arrival & departure, lunch, passing periods, and other activities; instructs students in appropriate behavior; disciplines students in accordance with established guidelines.
Leads by positive example.
Communicates high expectations for students and provides appropriate motivation to reach expectations.
Prioritizes academic learning, resiliency and support for students.
Monitors and organizes attendance functions; attends meetings as needed, regarding absent or tardy students; provides leadership for attendance improvement efforts.
Oversees behavioral interventions.
Supports staff to create and sustain classroom management systems that ensure a focus on learning and student success.
Implements and follows policies and procedures for discipline and other policies related to maintaining a positive school culture of learning and achievement.
Participates as needed in Individual Educational Plan meetings (IEP).
Supervise the consistent and fair administration of school policies regarding student conduct and discipline.
Makes referrals to other professional staff members in the district.
QUALIFICATIONS
Current Washington State Teacher’s certificate.
At least 2 years of teaching experience.
