Overview

Professional School Executive Chief Diversity Officer/ Assistant Administrator at The City University of New York (CUNY). The CDO will lead the Schools’ Office of Diversity and Compliance and serve as Title IX Coordinator and the Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and ADA Coordinator. The role reports to the SPH and SPS Deans and collaborates with campus Legal Counsel, Labor Designee, Offices of Human Resources, Academic and Student Affairs; the CUNY Office of the General Counsel (OGC); and the Center for Inclusive Excellence and Belonging (CIEB). The CDO oversees programmatic, training, and compliance activities in accordance with federal, state, local and University policies, while maintaining confidentiality and integrity with students, faculty, and staff. Key Responsibilities

Developing and presenting training programs and disseminating information related to diversity, equal opportunity, and compliance. Maintaining current knowledge and materials related to laws, rules, regulations, and best practices for advancing equal opportunity and diversity. Overseeing employee recruitment and search processes in collaboration with the Offices of Human Resources, ensuring recruitment outreach, reviewing search process documents, and monitoring hiring processes for compliance with governmental and University policies. Conducting investigations of complaints under Title IV, VI, VII and IX and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and ADA, in accordance with applicable policies. Overseeing initiatives, programs, and events designed to foster a climate that respects diversity among students, faculty, and staff, including collaboration with campus committees. Preparing memoranda and reports; working with CUNY Offices and external agencies on compliance audits and initiatives as necessary. Serving as campus representative and liaison to the relevant CUNY Offices. Performing other duties as assigned by the Deans or designees. Qualifications

This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience. Additional qualifications are defined below. Preferred Qualifications

JD degree with experience in employment law. Admission to the New York State bar. Experience conducting investigations in equal opportunity and diversity. Knowledge of and experience with Title IV, VI, VII, IX and Section 504 and ADA compliance. Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in a higher education institution in a similar role (equal opportunity compliance and investigations). Experience working in a unionized and online higher education environment. Excellent diplomatic, interpersonal, analytical, organizational and written/oral communication skills. Ability to work as part of a high-level administrative team and interact with diverse groups. Working knowledge of MS Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint). Familiarity with investigative/case management software. Training as a trauma-informed investigator. Title and Compensation

CUNY Title: Professional School Assistant Admin Compensation: $145,000 - $170,000 Benefits
