Job Summary Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to serve as Registrar. This role is essential to the academic mission of the college, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of student records and academic processes.

About ABAC ABAC is a residential, comprehensive arts and sciences institution with an enrollment of over 4000 students. With campuses in Tifton, GA and Bainbridge, GA, ABAC offers fourteen Bachelor of Science degrees, three associate degrees, and four certificate programs.

Position Summary The Registrar is responsible for the leadership and management of all functions related to student academic records, registration, curriculum implementation, graduation certification, and compliance with collecting and submitting institutional, state, and federal regulation data requests. This position plays a critical role in supporting the academic mission of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College by ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and security of academic records and facilitating efficient academic processes. The Registrar reports to the Assistant Vice President of Policy and Compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee the maintenance and security of student academic records in accordance with FERPA and institutional policies.

Manage registration processes, including course scheduling, add/drop periods, and final exam schedules.

Coordinate the implementation of curriculum changes and updates to the academic catalog.

Certify students for graduation and assist in the planning and coordination of commencement ceremonies.

Serve as the institution’s FERPA Compliance Officer and Data Steward for student academic data.

Supervise the evaluation and processing of transfer credits, including AP, IB, CLEP, and military transcripts.

Assist with and ensure accurate and timely reporting to the National Student Clearinghouse, National Center for Education Statistics & IPEDS, Academic Data Mart, and University System of Georgia Data Requests.

Support student-athlete eligibility certification in coordination with the NAIA, Southern States Athletic Conference, and Athletics Department.

Collaborate with academic departments and administrative offices to support student success and retention initiatives.

Maintain and enhance the Banner student information system Banner and degree audit system DegreeWorks.

Participate in institutional committees, including the Curriculum Committee and Academic Appeals Committee.

Develop and manage the academic calendar in coordination with Academic Affairs.

Oversee the budgets for the Office of the Registrar and Commencement Ceremonies.

Provide training and support to faculty and staff on registration, grading, and academic policy procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred.

Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in higher education administration, preferably in a registrars office.

Demonstrated proficiency with student information systems (Banner preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, and web-based technologies (HTML experience a plus).

Strong understanding of FERPA, accreditation standards, and academic policy.

Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with curriculum management, catalog production, and academic scheduling.

Familiarity with transfer articulation systems (e.g., GATRACS, GACHECS).

Experience working with diverse student populations and supporting student success initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibilities Direct supervision of approximately two full-time staff.
