Project Manager – Mechanical / Electrical The Project Manager will lead mechanical and/or electrical teams for large‑scale projects. Responsibilities include project planning, budget and schedule control, client relations, safety and quality assurance, vendor and subcontractor management, and coordination of submittals and procedures.
Responsibilities
Plan, direct and coordinate construction activities for mechanical and electrical industrial projects across a wide variety of industries and clients.
Manage Project Engineers, Superintendents and Foremen, ensuring overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the team.
Initiate and maintain liaison with prime clients to facilitate construction activities.
Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within corporate policy.
Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure work progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
Review status reports from project personnel and modify schedules/plans as needed.
Prepare project reports for management, clients and other stakeholders.
Coordinate project activities with governmental agencies and subcontractors.
Understand and execute CPM‑based project schedules.
Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of on‑site Superintendent to ensure project is built safely, on schedule and within budget.
Represent company in Owner progress meetings.
Manage financial aspects of contracts and be responsible for project profit or loss.
Lead project team in daily field coordination meeting, weekly block schedule meeting and monthly safety kickoff meeting.
Mentor and assist with career development of other team members.
Perform additional assignments as directed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical engineering or construction management.
10+ years of experience in construction, design, finance, and project management.
PE credentialing not required but strongly preferred.
Excellent safety knowledge and ability to enforce safety laws and company policies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively at all levels.
Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules and subcontractors on large projects.
